Come down to Tramore Beach and try out the latest craze - Stand Up Paddle Boarding!
Originally from Hawaii, this sport derived from the local surfers paddling out on big surf boards, they stood on these to take photos of the tourist surfing, a few locals of these guys then started surfing them. However it was Laird Hamilton, in about 2005, who really began to surf these boards!! On the flat days, Laird would use these boards for fitness, and for a relaxing paddle around the islands.

We run courses for paddle boarding all year. Once you have mastered the basics we can help you choose if you want to buy your own board, or you are welcome to come down and hire any of ours! We have a wide range of boards to try out, from 9ft to 15ft, flat water boards or surf! All the staff here are keen paddlers, so our knowledge is not from a book, but many years experience and love for the sport!
Our courses cover;
- Safety and self rescue
- Sea and wind conditions
- Equipment
